The Online to Offline Strategy Group is a worker-self-directed nonprofit dedicated to winning structural change by building people-centered, digitally empowered movements.
Our model was born out of necessity: organizing Walmart workers at 4,000 stores across the country, without organizers on the ground at each one.
Our team developed new digital strategies to bring Walmart workers into online communities, run highly effective offline actions, and develop leaders. It worked, and it changed how we think about organizing.
Since then, O2O has grown into a worker-led nonprofit that develops new digital organizing methods and trains movement organizations to use them on community and labor campaigns.
Our work has helped hundreds of groups build digital capacity and win, from the shop floor to the House floor.
How we got here.
Where the model started
Online communities of Walmart workers became the base for coordinated offline action across thousands of stores.
Tested on dozens of fights
Childcare in Alameda County, gig workers in California, childcare providers in Illinois, and educators across Texas.
Training the movement
Trainings, coaching, and hands-on support that leave organizations with skills and systems of their own.
